Ascension Weekend: The Préhistoriales!

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Préhistoriales are making a big comeback in La Roque Saint-Christophe.

For the 2026 edition, new presenters are enriching the program and inviting you to dive into the heart of prehistoric crafts: flint knapping, fire-making, wild basket weaving, jewelry-making, Neolithic pottery, hide tanning, prehistoric music, spear-making, spear-throwing, and archery… so many immersive experiences to enjoy firsthand.

An exceptional new feature this year, on Friday, May 15: the International Congress of Flint Knappers will be held concurrently with the Préhistoriales festival at the foot of the cliff, offering a unique opportunity to meet specialists from around the world.

Learn more: About the Préhistoriales and the Flint-Cutting Symposium.

  • The events will take place from Thursday through Saturday, May 14, 15, and 16, 2026.

All Saints’ Day vacations

A detailed program will be available soon…

Christmas Break

La Roque Saint-Christophe is beautifully decorated for the holiday season. You can explore the site on your own, at your own pace.

Come see our giant, life-size nativity scene in the beautifully lit sheepfold! It features 6 figures and 2 animals, all custom-made by a visual artist.

Theobald the Falcon is still offering his scavenger hunt. And Santa Claus will be visiting us, just like every year.

Please note! La Roque is closed on December 25 and on the morning of January 1!

Winter Break (in February)
